Cooperation, Networks and
Joint Educational Programmes

There are several ongoing types of cooperation amongst different partners at the site, such as joint scientific projects, thematic networks and joint appointments. A close cooperation also exists between the university and non-university research institutions for the education of highly-qualified early stage scientists.

Besides the Graduate School of Potsdam University there is an interdisciplinary programme for doctoral students in the field of systems biology as part of the research project GoFORSYS. In addition, at all three Max Planck Institutes there are International Max Planck Research Schools (PhD programmes) for different subjects.

NEW at Siencepark: Glyconet Berlin Brandenburg e.V.

Glyconet Berlin Brandenburg e.V.Glyconet Berlin Brandenburg (BB) is a network of companies and institutes dedicated to promoting innovative approaches to glycobiology research. The focus is on the development of new synthetic, diagnostic, analytical and therapeutic processes and systems for medicine, engineering and materials, energy and life sciences. The aim of glyconet BB is to strengthen regional capabilities and education in the aforementioned areas, and increase their visibility. It also aims to pool expertise and provide a platform for collaboration, in order to develop innovative products using the results of research in glycoscience.
Dr. Beatrice Sobek is the glyconet BB Network Manager. The network is based at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology in the Potsdam-Golm Science Park and currently comprises more than 20 partners, over half of which are research companies.
