Storytelling for Scientists

How to tell your scientific research idea in a professional story

In this workshop, you will develop ideas how to communicate your own research or start-up project. We will look at different story models and learn how to build memorable stories, set communication goals, find target groups and design core messages. A short introduction to storytelling as a communication tool, best-practice examples and a bit of communication theory will equip you with hands-on knowledge to try out elements of good storytelling. We will conclude the day with a look at the current discourse about storytelling in science and business communication and nominate the “story of the day”. This workshop strives to enable you to use storytelling in digital and printed media as well as face-to-face communication events.
